The Bel Air Bay Club is looking for Summer Camp Counselors:  Information + Applications in Student Center

Community Helpline, a 41 year old non-profit confidential listening, crisis and referral hotline, in the South Bay, needs volunteers to provide support to people in need or crisis. To prepare volunteers Community Helpline offers a 45 hour “Listening and Communication” Training.   Learn listening/communication skills not only for use on the hotline, but for life. The classes cover issues related to Helpline calls including depression, anxiety, addiction, teen and family violence, sexual orientation and suicide.  The next session begins June 26- August 2 on Tuesday + Thursday from 6-8:30pm in Redondo Beach. Books needed for Santa Teresita School Library: Used and new - See Mr. Zeko with books and periodicals about science, biography, history and iives of the saints; past issues of National Georgraphic magazines are needed.      

UCLA RIORDAN SCHOLARS PROGRAM is now seeking current high school freshman and sophomores as applicants for its leadership and career education program.  Eight Saturday sessions starting in September.   No cost and great benefit for college and professional preparation.  Applications are due June 1 and available in the Community Service Center or on line through the UCLA Anderson School.  See Mr. Zeko or Misael Cabrera, '13 for an application and with questions.

Any senior that has received an award from the college that he will attend can still bring, fax, or email the acknowledgement to Mrs. Jamison in the Main office.  Mrs. Jamison will accept these confirmations until 8:30 a.m. on Monday, May 11^th when the booklet will go to print.

Seniors in Fr. Goethals/Mrs. Peck's Senior Reflection Group please make your Exit Interview appointment with Mrs. Peck.  She can be found in the President's Office in Ruppert Hall

Seniors: If you did not submitted your 2012 senior application results or have a change in the college you will be attending next year please see Mrs. Wiggins in the Counseling Office ASAP!  This information will be printed in the graduation program.

Loyola Seniors who plan to attend USC this coming fall should see Mr. Vavra regarding the USC Balanced Man Scholarship.

ATTENTION JUNIORS:  Windowpanes is looking for candidates for next year's literary editor of Loyola's internationally recognized literary and art magazine.  If you are interested in serving in this important leadership role for next year, please see Mr. Caldwell in Room P206 or email him as soon as possible.  The selection process will take place within two weeks.

ATHLETICS

ATTENTION ALL ATHLETES-at the conclusion of your season all Loyola equipment and uniforms MUST be returned to Mr. Moscicki, immediately.  Your locker MUST clear your locker out of ALL belongings.  Anything left in lockers will be thrown away.  Seniors failing to return uniforms will not receive their diplomas, all other students will be assigned graduation JUG.

Basketball: All those interested in trying out for the Varsity or Junior Varsity summer league teams, please go to the 2011/2012 Varsity Basketball group on CubView and fill out the signup form under the links section on that page.  Tryouts will begin Tuesday, May 15^th, the times to be announced.  If you have questions, please attend a meeting in Coach Adams room P208 at lunch on Tuesday, May 1st. Please be prompt.

VARSITY FOOTBALL:  TRYOUTS Begin after school from 2:30-5:30 on the following dates:   TODAY –

  Tuesday, May  15,  Wednesday, May 16  & Thursday, May 17

All prospective student athletes not currently enrolled in football should wear blue shorts, white t shirt, cleats, & a mouthpiece. See Coach Christensen for more details.

Soccer:  Any sophomore or junior interested in playing varsity soccer please see Mr. Walter in the Student Center to pick up the Spring Soccer Schedule.  Practice begins May 14^TH.  You will also need to go to the Varsity Soccer Cubview Page and fill out the form that is online.
