Open to Barbarians (non Latin students) too, this club meets on Wednesdays at lunch in the front circle for friendly sword-fighting. Follow the common-sense rules and fight! Safety Rules: 1) No head/neck shots (disqualification) 2) No groin shots (disqualification) 3) No "baseball" swings- the purpose is NOT to maim your opponent. 4) No throwing the weapon. 5) If your opponent hits your arm, you lose it. You need to use your other arm. 6) If your opponent hits your other arm, you're dead. Game over. 7) If your opponent hits your leg, you lose it. Hop on the other leg. 8) If your opponent hits your other leg, you lose it. Down on your knees. 9) TORSO SHOT IS A KILL. As long as you follow the safety rules, obey the judges, you're welcome all year. If those are too many rules for you, sorry, this isn't a club for you. We run various types of battles, single elimination tournaments and "wars." MEMBERSHIP: $5 per year. Your $ will go towards purchasing martial arts training swords which cost over $50 each. JCL members have already paid dues to the parent organization. You don't need to pay. You will need to pay to play. Otherwise, sit on the sidelines and enjoy the entertainment.
